Job Description

Ready to fuel your ambition and start a career in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance? We’re seeking applications for Kinetics’ 2026 Apprenticeship intake to start ASAP.

With a strong focus on providing safe, clean and reliable bus services for our customers, our Fleet Services team plays a critical role in keeping our buses in optimum condition through top quality maintenance and repairs.

What is a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic?

As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic apprentice, you will start your learning working on our diesel fleet. From general maintenance and repair tasks through to major engine component rebuilds, you’ll get a great variety of meaningful work across several vehicle makes and models to keep every day fresh and exciting.

Heavy Vehicle Mechanics are one of the most in-demand trade roles in Australia.

How does the program work?

Along your journey with us, you will be supported by our dedicated workshop staff who are keen to mentor you in high levels of technical knowledge and skills so you can thrive within the transport industry.

On top of that, you’ll be supported to learn key interpersonal skills and leadership qualities to set you up for long-term success, with local and interstate career progression opportunities up for grabs.

Hours: 40 hour per week roster

What boxes do you need to tick?

  • A desire to obtain Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • Ability to obtain your Class C Driver’s License once of age
  • A willingness to participate in short-term inter-depot travel to facilitate technical learning experiences
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Reliable and punctual
