Job Description

Who we are looking for

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) Vendor Management (VM) function is seeking to hire a Market Data/Index Data sourcing analyst for SSGA VM team Bangalore. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with SSGA business (e.g., investments, Product, client-facing distribution and onboarding teams), index/market data vendors and State Street teams (e.g., Corp Procurement, DataGX, Alpha Services) and executing new index data licensing and supporting other market data needs for SSGA managed portfolios and products.

What you will be responsible for

  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to identify the new index requirements, and work with index vendors to source the indices and other State Street stakeholders to execute the new index license agreements, and facilitates State Street DataGX/Alpha Services to set up the index in the systems

  • Responding to and managing email inquiries and requests sent to the Appian workflow timely and effectively

  • Coordinate index/market data and functionality requirements and priorities, and support time-sensitive and high impact projects of setting up new benchmark and market data

  • Serve as the index sourcing SME and the escalation contact to address business inquiries

  • Support developing and implementing index/market data vendor oversight program (e.g., collecting vendor feedback and facilitate new index vendor procurement engagements

  • Support the quarterly index license fees reporting and invoicing process, including working with Procurement on rate card confirmation, liaise with vendors, assist GA Finance with processing

  • Perform index data sourcing analytics, benchmarking, and gap identification, as well as working on process simplification and automation to improve the overall index set up workflow

  • Support the SSGA business and understand their market data needs, and work with SSGA VM Boston team and Corp Procurement colleagues through the sourcing and vendor procurement process

  • Familiar with index vendors and index data license fee agreement and amendments

  • Understanding of market data vendor requirements related business process designs, data sourcing and transformation flows, use case models, and test cases

  • Experience in the analysis, design, development, enhancement and implementation of market data vendor solutions will be a great plus

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree

  • Investment industry, financial markets and market data general knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, advance levels of Excel and other data/analytical tools (e.g., Tableau)

  • Ability to independently manage projects and problem solve without handheld by management

  • Personal resilience to work within an extremely fast-paced and ambiguous environment

  • Highly organized, responsive and great communication skills and work under high pressure deadlines
