We’re looking for an Apprentice Electrician to join our team in Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your electrical skills and gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards your apprenticeship qualification.

Working alongside experienced electricians and engineers, you’ll learn on the job while supporting the installation and maintenance of traffic signal systems across the Dublin region.

Job Description

Apprentice Electrician

Location: Dublin, Ireland

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, practical and keen to learn, with an interest in developing a career in electrical engineering.

What you will do

• Work alongside and learn from experienced electricians to install, maintain and repair traffic signal equipment across the Dublin region.
• Develop your practical electrical skills through hands-on experience and formal apprenticeship training.
• Work safely and effectively under the guidance of senior electricians, supervisors and managers.
• Complete timesheets, job numbers and vehicle mileage records accurately.
• Attend and actively participate in apprenticeship classes, workshops, toolbox talks and on-the-job training.
• Learn and follow SWARCO’s Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures and best practices.
• Help ensure company vehicles, tools, equipment and PPE are kept safe, clean and in good working order.
• Work as part of a team while developing the confidence to take responsibility for your own work as your skills and experience grow.​​​​​​

Qualifications

You’ll ideally have:

• Junior Certificate / Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
• An interest in electrical work and technology.
• A willingness to learn, develop new skills and take on new challenges.
• Good problem-solving skills and a practical approach.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A trustworthy and adaptable approach to work.
• Good safety awareness and a willingness to follow safe working practices.
• The ability to work at height where required.
• A full driving licence.
• A valid SOLAS Safe Pass.
• Manual Handling certification.

Desirable:

• Basic electrical knowledge or practical experience.
• Basic IT skills.
