The elevator pitch of the role

We are looking for a Consumer & Market Insights Apprentice within the Regional Consumer Brand team, working on home care & beauty projects for European clients. In this role you will support the execution of cross-category consumer & product tests to fuel the fragrance creation process with robust insights and answer clients’ and consumer needs. You will also support market data analysis to uncover market opportunities.

This is a fantastic hands-on opportunity to learn about consumer & market insights and the essential role they play in new fragrance development, from creation phase through to submission to clients. This role will allow you to partner with an interdisciplinary team of marketers, fragrance developers, perfumers, other CI researchers and account leads based across Europe.

Your key responsibilities

You will contribute to all key stages of consumer studies, from start to finish, to help develop winning fragrances for home & beauty categories:

• Define the consumer needs to be answered and design the study together with the team and internal stakeholders

• Coordinate project and administrative related tasks with internal (labs, development, sales, marketing, finance) & external (agencies) partners

• Script, plan and execute the fieldwork together with external agencies

• Check collected data, analyse and synthetize results

• Help with the generation of actionable insights and recommendations

• Support the creation and communication of presentations for internal or external fragrance storytelling

• Help improve processes and standards related to consumer studies

You will also contribute to the analysis of e-commerce market data to identify trends, new brands and new product opportunities.

You bring

• Currently studying sensory, consumer science, market research, food science, fragrance and cosmetics or equivalent at a Bachelor or Master level offering the apprenticeship option for the next school year(s)

• Strong interest in product testing, data analysis and understanding consumers

• Curiosity for the fragrance industry and the home & beauty care market

• At ease with analytical tools (Excel and XLStat in particular) and optionally data collection systems (such as Fizz, SIMS, Compusense)

• Great organisation skills, pragmatic, proactive and a hands-on attitude

• Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and priorities and switch from operational tasks to analytical thinking

• Good English and communication skills to easily navigate a global, multicultural and matrix environment

• Past experiences (internships) with quantitative product testing, sensory, product development, statistics are welcome but not mandatory
