About this position:

The Apprentice Central Warehouse to Central Warehouse Person is responsible for maintaining, organizing and issuing supplies for field related projects. Also responsible for the delivery of materials to area operating locations and job sites.

About this job:

  • Demonstrate being a safe and effective employee
  • Effectively demonstrate proficiency in SAP materials management with the ability to complete all necessary SAP warehouse related documents, including but not limited to: check in and numbering of transformers, regulators and reclosures and complete set-up for each in SAP
  • Accurately prepare materials required by electric and gas crews, including job-specific material pick lists and walk-in requests with little or no supervision
  • Receive and ship materials accurately and effectively in a timely manner to suppliers, other warehouse locations and designated job sites
  • Manage daily time schedule with minimal direction while showing initiative to perform work tasks independently.
  • Deliver materials to area locations using warehouse truck in a timely manner and effectively manage route schedules
  • Assist Storekeeper in planning and delivery schedule of company truck as needed
  • Assist Storekeeper in planning and layout of warehouse and yard to maximize operational efficiency
  • Maintain warehouse, material yards, equipment and dock area in a neat, orderly and safe manner
  • Perform accurate inventory cycle counting of materials
  • Perform material handling and transfer of materials between warehouse and trucks, including skillful and safe use of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hoists
  • Unload and load materials for shipment; process returned materials from other areas
  • Complete necessary warehouse related documentation.
  • Work overtime including nights and weekends when necessary
  • Safely perform individual lifting of parts, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest level
  • Preform other warehouse/inventory duties as assigned
  • Adapt to technological changes as they are implemented
  • Work outside in all weather conditions on an occasional basis
  • Bar Code and label bins as needed

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CDL driver's license required or the ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months and Satisfactory driving record
  • Forklift operation certification (training available) must be obtained within 3 months
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
  • Get Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus (click on the link to certify at no cost)
