CAI Business Units and the Markets We Serve

CAI Software is organized into three business units - Graphic Communications, Process Manufacturing, and Discrete Manufacturing – aligned to the markets we serve. This structure allows our teams to stay close to customer needs while operating with the scale and support of a global software company.

This role is part of our Shared Services team which includes the functions that support CAI business units. This model enables deep industry focus at the BU level while benefiting from the scale, expertise, and stability of one unified organization—allowing CAI Software to deliver specialized solutions

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and curious fresher to join our AI Engineering team. You will work alongside senior engineers to design, develop, and ship AI-powered features integrated into our products. This is a great opportunity to kickstart your career at the intersection of artificial intelligence and software engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in designing and developing AI-powered features integrated into product workflows
• Develop and integrate LLM-based capabilities such as text generation, summarization, classification, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Build and maintain prompt engineering pipelines, AI agents, and tool-use workflows using frameworks such as LangChain or the Anthropic SDK
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to scope and deliver AI features end to end
• Research emerging AI models, tools, and techniques and evaluate their applicability to CAI products
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows for AI features using tools like GitHub Actions
• Monitor AI feature performance, analyze outputs, and iterate based on user feedback and evaluation metrics
• Participate in sprint ceremonies including standups, retrospectives, and planning sessions
• Continuously research the latest AI models, tools, and industry trends and proactively apply relevant advances to day-to-day engineering tasks and product features
• Contribute to internal initiatives such as AI-SDLC tooling, developer productivity automation, and AI-assisted workflows that improve how CAI teams design, build, and ship software

Required skills

• Languages & scripting : Python, Java, SQL
• AI/LLM frameworks : LangChain, LlamaIndex, Anthropic SDK, OpenAI SDK
• AI/ML concepts : LLMs, RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, fine-tuning basics
• Tools & platforms : Git, JIRA, Postman, VS Code, GitHub Actions

GOOD TO HAVE

• Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.)
• Exposure to vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) or semantic search
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for deploying AI services
• Experience with Docker or containerized environments for AI model serving
• Personal AI projects, open-source contributions, or published demos (GitHub, Hugging Face, etc.)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related field (2023–2025 batch)
• Minimum 60% aggregate throughout academics with no active backlogs at time of joining
• Strong logical reasoning and analytical mindset
• Good communication and teamwork skills
