General Summary:
Responsible for ordering and receiving appraisals and evaluations. Responsible for submitting encoded appraisals to government portal and distribute report and review to correct department. Serves as liaison between bank departments and appraisers. This position will not require discussion regarding terms of a loan with borrower.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for ordering appraisals and evaluations upon request, communicating clearly with the appraiser the requirements for each assignment and acting as a liaison between the appraiser and lending staff regularly notifying lending personnel of status, or diligently monitoring the status of appraisals ordered by lending staff through third parties.
- Complete appraisal/evaluation review process verifying factual data contained in reports, submitting reports to third party for review, and submitting appraisal reports through applicable portals and delivering appraisals/evaluations to borrowers within regulated guidelines.
- Responsible for finding out-of-area appraisers in a timely manner when applicable.
- Maintain filing of appraisals on the computer system for future reference.
- Responsible for continuously researching regulations affecting real estate appraisals and report to management of any changes.
- Responsible for staying up to date on and complying with all applicable banking laws and regulations as well as CNB policies and procedures.
- Responsible for tracking borrowers’ consent to receive documents electronically and delivering documents using paper-based system for borrowers who opt out.
- Conduct research of statutes, regulations, and rules that impact mortgage lending and recommending to management new or revised compliance requirements, as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.
- Maintain performance levels consistently with established company policy.
- Maintain professional, ethical, and courteous relationships with both external and internal customers.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work cooperatively with others.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

QualificationsSkills and Abilities Required
- Knowledge of real estate loan products, appraisal policy, loan policy, and USPAP Guidelines.
- Knowledge of HMDA and Fair Lending requirements.
- Knowledge of regulation B and fair credit reporting act to ensure accuracy of denials.
- Demonstrate analytical, decision-making and effective problem resolution.
- Intermediate accounting skills with mathematical aptitude and computer spreadsheet skills.
- Possess an aptitude for coordinating and prioritizing multi-tasked responsibilities.
- Illustrate a working knowledge of computer software and systems: Microsoft Office, Encompass, Abrigo, DocuCommand, and Microsoft Explorer.
- Possess an autonomy and initiative to reference online websites, such as All-Regs, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and FHA/VA to meet governmental regulations and lending criteria.
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines when working on numerous different projects simultaneously.
- Good communicator, both verbal and written.
- Talent for comprehending complex documents, such as Appraisals and Evaluations
- Responsible for daily work schedule and tasks required with minimal or no supervision.
- Ability to adapt to technology changes and apply new knowledge to responsibilities.
Certifications/Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Six to twelve months of increasingly responsible job-related experience
- Regular attendance is necessary.

- Occasionally move and carry office supplies, files and equipment weighing 10+ pounds.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Ability to produce reports, memos, etc. in a comprehensive manner.
- This position frequently communicates with employees, colleagues, and officers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time to process work.
