Job Description

The Appraisal Specialist II will be responsible for assisting Loan Officers and Loan Assistants personnel by providing adequate recommendations and advice on correct Appraisal products to order. Duties include producing and reviewing quality reports, such as validations of existing appraisal reports, reviews, and management of the Appraisal Department Software. The Appraisal Specialist II will handle all invoices for appraisals and submission of required documentation to the Accounting Department. Handles management of Appraiser panel and engages in direct communication with Appraisers on behalf of RM and Assistants.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the Appraisal Department residential validations, appraisal reviews from FB Mortgage and Invoicing for the Department.
  • Manages effective processes for the Appraisal Department to be more efficient and produce timely reports
  • Makes sure approved bank personnel has access to ValuTrac our Appraisal Management Software
  • Follows up with revision on appraisal to ensure maximum quality of the appraisal report
  • Identifies appraisal and evaluations with potential weaknesses and communicates any issues to the Appraisal Department Manager.
  • Turnaround times Reports for the Appraisal Department
  • Documents irregularities in appraisals, evaluations, and reviews after discussing all the issues with the Appraisal Department Manager.
  • Identifies relevant ways to be more efficient based on the needs of the Loan Officers
  • Has knowledge of FDIC, compliance regulations.
  • Handles overflow of appraisal orders as needed.
  • Successfully advises RM’s and Loan Assistants with questions regarding appraisal policies and product ordering.
  • Resolves any accounting issues between the bank and the appraiser.
  • Participates in acquisitions, training of new employees on our Appraisal management system and products.
  • Performs other duties at the direction of the Appraisal Manager.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field preferred.
  • Appraisal Residential courses
  • Previous banking experience

  • Communicates positively and effectively with other department personnel and with Loan Officers and Assistants
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and work well under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Thinks and acts independently within guidelines and limitations of Bank policy
  • Ability to demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior and confidentiality and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Respectful demeanor toward other associates and managers that promotes a positive and professional work environment.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
