What You Will Do
- Design, build, and deploy LLM-powered features that are utilized by real customers, moving beyond prototypes and research projects.
- Architect and implement reliable, scalable AI agents and multi-step LLM workflows that enhance operational efficiency.
- Own the end-to-end development of features from initial design through deployment and iterative improvements.
- Build and maintain prompt orchestration pipelines, utilizing context engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques.
- Develop and enforce practices for LLM reliability and safety, including guardrails and evaluation frameworks.
- Make informed trade-offs between performance, latency, cost, and output quality in production AI systems.
- Communicate complex technical decisions and architectural trade-offs effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 3–7+ years of experience as a software engineer, applied AI engineer, or product engineer with a strong focus on backend development.
- Proven track record of shipping LLM-powered products to production; experience with demos or research-only work is insufficient.
- Strong backend engineering skills in Python and solid command of relational databases, particularly Postgres and SQL.
- Hands-on experience in designing and building AI agents or complex multi-step LLM pipelines, with practical knowledge of prompt orchestration and context engineering.
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and methodologies for ensuring production safety.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or finance domains, particularly in applying AI to complex workflows.
- A strong product mindset with a history of owning features from concept through launch and iteration.
- Comfort in high-autonomy environments and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
