What you'll be doing

Technology Operations supports the platforms, tools, and environments that help our engineering teams build and deliver solutions at scale. As an Application/Software Developer Co-op, you'll support the development platform used by teams across CIBC to build and maintain their applications in platforms such as Microsoft Azure. You'll contribute to the integration of cloud-based components, support shared frameworks and common services, and assist with development activities across application programming interfaces (APIs), extract, transform, load (ETL) processes, and Databricks initiatives. You'll also help with platform support activities, including service requests, access management, documentation, and day-to-day troubleshooting. This is a hands-on opportunity to build your technical skills, learn from experienced team members, and contribute to solutions that support our broader technology environment.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

• Support cloud platform delivery - Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of development platforms hosted in Microsoft Azure that enable application teams across the bank.
• Assist with integration activities - Support the integration of platform components, shared services, and frameworks to help ensure applications and tools work effectively together.
• Contribute to development work - Participate in technical tasks involving Python, PowerShell, APIs, ETL workflows, and Databricks projects under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Provide operational support - Help manage support requests, user access activities, and routine platform administration, including assisting with Databricks access and related support needs.
• Create clear documentation - Prepare and maintain technical and process documentation to support platform usage, knowledge sharing, and team efficiency.

Who you are

• You are pursuing a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• You can demonstrate experience in Python, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, PowerShell, and Microsoft Excel. It’s an asset if you have exposure to APIs, ETL processes, cloud platform support, or shared application frameworks.
