Internal Candidate Eligibility Criteria:

Purpose

Direct and coordinate the activities of the Application Engineering Structural Group.

(Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Manage a team of application welding engineers, technicians, and technologists to complete Applied R&D projects
  • Support the personal growth of direct reports through ongoing professional development.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, ensuring best practices are followed in customer support, evaluations, demonstrations, and solution development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, machine and consumable R&D, product management to develop and deliver welding solutions
  • Manage offering of engineering services to end users
  • Develop and maintain project plans, allocate resources effectively, and track progress, ensuring projects are delivered on time
  • Grow and maintain expertise in AWS and AISC industry trends
  • Proactively address lab related environment, ergonomic, and safety issues.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2030 RISE Strategy.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Welding Engineering, Mechanical (with an emphasis in Welding), Structural Engineering, Materials Science or a related field. Masters Degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferred
  • Experience with Welding Industry Codes and Standards
  • Proficiency in arc welding processes
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to build and maintain superior relationships with internal and external clients at all levels.
  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements
  • Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy
  • Leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives
  • Typically operates with broad latitude in a complex environment
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time
