About the Role
We are looking an experienced Applications Project Manager to join our Technology Project Team in our Cremorne Office, in Melbourne as we support Projects around our Supply Chain & Buying & Planning teams.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity, perfect for an accomplished and organised team player with a background in successful project delivery within the Retail space.
This role is a fixed term 6 month contract, perfect for an experienced Project Manager to add value and make a quick impact.
Reporting to the Head of Projects, the Project Manager role will see you managing a few fast-paced projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and in-line with business expectations. You will be expected to communicate with all facets of the business, coordinate and hold meetings, provide documentation in accordance with the project framework, communicate with external partners, and ultimately successfully deliver and support the delivery of exciting and rapid projects within an ever-growing business.
The business is dynamic, and our project approach does vary dependant on the specific project needs. We do not have dedicated project resourcing to draw from and therefore work with the business and externals to buy our resourcing needed to succeed. Organisational, Analytical & Communication skills are key in this role, along with a level of comfort to work in an operationally minded environment where the ability to pivot and work at pace are valued.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Own and manage all stages of a project’s life cycle from initial discussion through to post-go-live phases. On Larger Projects perhaps lead a stream of work.
• Facilitate and manage meetings, workshops and WIPS as required, also to manage stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
• Build and maintain strong relationships both within the business and with external partners to drive a successful outcome.
• Compile and prepare appropriate documentation that adheres to the project framework, (Including regular status reports, business cases, project plans, risk mitigation strategies, and solution overview documentation), in addition to managing all supporting documentation.
• Review, record, report and escalate changes/issues to the project scope as required.
• Work effectively with the Tech & Business Teams to ultimately deliver the best solution and outcome for each project.
• Being able to manage projects independent of full-time business analyst involvement.
• Need to get involved in activities supporting PM work around process, analysis & documentation as needed.
• Need to be prepared to travel as required.
To be successful you will need
• Demonstrated 5 + years Project Lead background with proven project delivery capability within the retail industry
• Ability to run projects at pace, and to adapt to project pipeline adjustment/changes as required
• Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently with varying complexity with competing deadlines & priorities.
• Knowledge and experience in Project Management principles (Agile/Waterfall) and supporting project management tools
• Excellent communication skills and a can-do team-player attitude
• Excellent Stakeholder management and team engagement skills
• Good analytical & decision-making skills, also in taking initiative.
• Advanced skills in MS Office 365 and Project Tools.
• Ability to work well with in a Team as well as individually.
• A “Make It Happen” attitude as you work with a highly motivated and driven team.
This is a full-time role on site and does require some flexibility to accommodate project delivery and responsibility.
