Are you our new Applications Manager?

As the Applications Manager, you will lead the end-to-end management of the Market application landscape, covering in-house developed solutions, vendor-provided systems and the integrations that support business operations. You will manage a team of Application Developers, Solutions Architects and Systems Analysts, while providing matrix oversight to local developers and Technical Owners across business units. Reporting to the Local Market IT Director, you will work closely with Business Owners, the Market Information Security Officer (MISO), Group IT, vendors and integration partners to ensure applications are reliable, secure and aligned with business priorities. This role requires strong leadership, vendor-management experience and hands-on understanding of application architecture and integrations within a regulated environment.

What will you do:

Application Portfolio Ownership:

  • Own the lifecycle and governance of the local application portfolio, including in-house, vendor-managed and SaaS applications
  • Prioritize application changes and maintain standards for architecture, documentation and change management

Vendor & License Management:

  • Manage relationships with software vendors and integration partners, including SLAs, licensing, renewals and escalations
  • Support application selection, evaluations and onboarding in cooperation with Procurement, Legal and Group IT

In-house Development & Architecture:

  • Lead the in-house development team and establish engineering standards and best practices
  • Ensure secure, scalable and supportable solutions aligned with Group architecture principles
  • Own the application integration landscape, including APIs, middleware and data integrations

Service Operations, Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure reliable operation of business-critical applications and drive continuous service improvement
  • Partner with Security, Compliance and Group IT to meet regulatory, audit and security requirements
  • Monitor application performance, incidents, risks and remediation activities

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

  • Lead, coach and develop Application Developers, Solutions Architects and Systems Analysts.
  • Provide matrix guidance across business units and promote a strong delivery culture
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, translating business needs into effective technology solutions

Financials & Reporting:

  • Manage the application budget, including running, change and licensing costs
  • Provide regular reporting on portfolio performance, vendor management, risks and key initiatives

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in application management, application delivery or IT engineering
  • Proven experience managing in-house and vendor-provided/SaaS applications across their lifecycle, including vendor governance, SLAs and systems integrations
  • Strong understanding of modern application architectures, cloud/SaaS platforms, SDLC practices, ITIL processes and application security principles
  • Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, credit management or insurance is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, PMP, AWS/Azure/GCP, Scrum) are considered an asset
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and busness audiences
  • Pragmatic, results-oriented mindset with strong accountability and decision-making capabilities
  • Fluency in Greek and English is required
