Job Purpose

The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

We are seeking an Applications Engineering Co-Op for CT Turbochargers and Fan/Fan Drive products (cooling fans, mechanical and viscous fan clutches, and eFan motors for hybrid & electric vehicles).

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in prototype build coordination, testing of prototype turbochargers, fans, and fan drives
• Support engineering problem solving by investigating development test failures, prototype & production manufacturing issues, or warranty returns
• Support customer meetings discussing design & development of products launching 1-5 years from now
• Follow all BorgWarner safety rules and EHS requirements while working around energized equipment and production machinery

What we are looking for

• Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Academic or project-based exposure to basic engineering principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
• Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn quickly.
• Clear communication skills and ability to document work and follow standard processes.
