Applications Engineer

Department: Sales/Marketing

Employment Type: Full Time

Description

Assists in the designing, testing and prototyping of applications and deploy the applications once they are tested on all the parameters. May conduct training for a large number of users working on a common application. This position will also resolve any technical issues that the users face while using the application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defines the required budget for each project based on the overall requirements and

research into the price of materials and estimates of other overheads.

  • Helps in defining and implementing product (application) specifications to make it unique

and user friendly. Modifies the specifications and features of the applications used to

incorporate new features and optimize performance.

  • Performs application testing on all the parameters set by the organization. Once the

testing process is completed, helps in resolving technical and compatibility issues before

approving the prototyping and deployment of applications.

  • Instructs the sales team regarding the specifications and features of an application or a

set of integrated applications. Alternately, these training sessions can be conducted

directly for the end users to explain the features and advantages of an application.

  • Writes documents including user manuals, installation guide, troubleshoot guide, and

other documents for promotional activities of an application or a set of applications.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related

experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of applications such as CAD, and CAM
  • Firm commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including ability to listen attentively and

to communicate information clearly and effectively

  • Interpersonal savvy; able to collaborate and work closely with other departments and

leadership

  • Excellent problem solving, process analysis, and improving business practice skills
  • Outstanding time-management skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects at a

time while meeting deadline

  • Good judgement skills with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and adaptable; able to work independently within team

focused environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software; SAP experience preferred

Travel: This position does not typically require travel outside the local area or overnight. Travel up to 5% of the time may be required to accounts, meetings, company related functions.
