Position:
Applications Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Applications Architect to
support the design, development, and implementation of enterprise application
architectures within a large and complex environment. The successful candidate
will be responsible for defining application structures, system interactions,
integration patterns, and architectural standards while ensuring scalability,
security, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Define
  the overall application architecture, including logical components,
  relationships, and system interactions.
• 
  Establish
  application structures, reusable components, quality metrics, software
  layering, and interface standards.
• 
  Design,
  implement, and manage cross-platform applications within large distributed
  environments.
• 
  Monitor
  system architecture to understand interactions among components and define
  source code limitations and requirements.
• 
  Define
  and document interactions between application packages, databases,
  middleware, and integration platforms.
• 
  Develop
  enterprise architecture deliverables including models and supporting
  documentation.
• 
  Contribute
  to application architecture design using structured methodologies,
  modeling tools, and best practices.
• 
  Support
  architecture initiatives involving cloud, on-premises, and hybrid
  environments.
• 
  Participate
  in solution design activities involving integrations, databases,
  middleware, APIs, and application services.

Required Qualifications

General Skills

  Experience
  developing and implementing application architectures.
• 
  Extensive
  experience with multiple computing platforms, operating systems,
  databases, programming languages, and communication protocols.
• 
  Experience
  working with middleware technologies and gateways.
• 
  Knowledge
  of performance considerations across different environments.
• 
  Experience
  with structured design, development, and implementation methodologies.
• 
  Extensive
  experience in systems analysis and design within large enterprise
  environments.
• 
  Experience
  using development tools, CASE tools, information retrieval packages,
  project management software, and business process improvement tools.
• 
  Experience
  with data and process modeling methodologies, metadata structures,
  repositories, and data dictionaries.
• 
  Experience
  developing enterprise architecture deliverables and models.
• 
  Awareness
  of emerging information technology trends and industry direction.
• 
  Strong
  analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, negotiation,
  and interpersonal skills.
• 
  Proven
  ability to work collaboratively and meet project deadlines.

Technical Skills

• 
  Experience
  with Agile methodologies.
• 
  Experience
  with on-premises and cloud integrations using MuleSoft or similar
  integration platforms.
• 
  Experience
  with cloud technologies including Azure or AWS.
• 
  Experience
  with cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and solution architecture
  principles.
• 
  Experience
  with Java and Microsoft .NET technologies.
• 
  Experience
  with SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud-based databases including structured
  and unstructured data platforms.
• 
  Experience
  with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, or similar
  services.
• 
  Experience
  with REST APIs, integrations, and web/lightweight application development.
• 
  Experience
  with Azure, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform.
• 
  Experience
  developing application models and architecture designs.
• 
  Experience
  with Web API development, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Entity Framework, Azure SQL,
  DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• 
  Experience
  working within Agile environments using Kanban or task board
  methodologies.

Desirable Skills

• 
  Knowledge
  of object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
• 
  Experience
  developing enterprise architecture deliverables and models.
• 
  Knowledge
  of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
• 
  Experience
  designing detailed functional and technical requirements.

  Experience
  leading multi-tier application infrastructure design, documentation, and
  configuration.

  Experience
  designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining large, complex
  enterprise applications, workflows, and dynamic forms.
• 
  Prior
  public sector experience.

Work Arrangement

• 
  5
  days onsite in Toronto, Ontario.
