As a application engineer assistant at Qnity, you will support PCB process improvement and maintenance. This entry-level role involves working with cross-functional teams to assist in resolving manufacturing challenges, helping implement upgrades, learning and applying best practices, and exploring new technologies alongside experienced staff.
Education & Experience
• College degree or above, Major in Material Science & Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
• Internship or project experience in printed circuit board processes is preferred; open to candidates with limited professional experience
Day-To-Day Responsibilities
• Assist in optimizing process variation through DOE and statistical data analysis under supervision
• Support collaboration with suppliers to identify improvement opportunities through equipment upgrades, new materials, or processing technology
• Contribute ideas for enhancing manufacturing practices based on industry benchmarks and best practices
• Help ensure customer quality and delivery requirements are met by supporting teams across the organization
• Participate in process development experiments for new lines and assist with technology transfers and scaling up
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to support project execution
• Occasional travel to customer locations may be required for process development, new operations, and improvement projects worldwide
Desired Skills
• Strong ‘customer focus’ attitude
• Basic understanding of Six Sigma and DMAIC project management principles
• Familiarity with statistical data analysis tools such as Excel; experience with JMP or Minitab is a plus
• Ability to multitask and support several tasks at once
• Good English verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to learn project management techniques and support projects from start to finish
• Strong interpersonal, coaching, and organizational/planning skills for managing responsibilities and interacting with various functions across the site/business
• Effective priority setting and organizational management
