Application Support Specialist – Self-developed Applications

Main Role

We are looking for an Application Support Specialist to join our global Contract Logistics IT team at DSV.

In this role, you will provide Level 2 (L2) technical support for internally developed applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and reliability.

You will be responsible for investigating and resolving application incidents, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with development teams to maintain efficient business operations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide L2 application support, handling incidents escalated from Level 1 support.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Prioritize incidents based on severity and business impact.
• Perform SQL queries and database troubleshooting to identify and investigate application issues.
• Monitor application performance, ServiceNow dashboards, and system alerts to proactively identify potential issues.
• Collaborate with L3 support, developers, and cross-functional IT teams to resolve complex technical incidents.
• Support problem management activities and contribute to preventing recurring issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, including known issues, workarounds, and resolution procedures.
• Ensure effective shift handovers to maintain continuity of production support.
• Participate in impact assessments and regression testing activities.
• Prepare reports on application health, incidents, and overall service performance.
• Communicate effectively with users and business stakeholders to understand issues and provide timely updates.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, or Application Administration.
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications running in Windows Server environments.
• Experience managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Windows Services.
• Knowledge of SQL queries and database troubleshooting.
• Experience in incident management, problem resolution, and technical troubleshooting.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and global IT teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle databases.
• Experience using ServiceNow for incident management and application monitoring.
