The Back End Developer plays a critical role in supporting and scaling Snap’s e-commerce ecosystem. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on API capabilities, guiding internal and external developers through seamless integrations while ensuring the reliability and performance of our API infrastructure.

This is a highly collaborative, client-facing individual contributor role that blends technical expertise with strong communication skills. You will partner with clients, merchants, and internal teams to deliver efficient, scalable integration solutions that drive business success.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Be an expert on the API methods that are available to properly help/guide other developers to integrate their system with our e-commerce platform
  • Monitor APIs infrastructures (Production, Stage & Sandboxes), making sure they are up & running 24/7
  • If an incident shows up, this person must submit a ticket to Support (L2) and keep users informed until it is remedied
  • Able to troubleshoot issues during integration between platforms. If the challenge is beyond her/his knowledge then bring the experts
  • Manage interactions with clients, merchants, partners and developers to understand their requirements and articulate best implementation of Snap’s solutions and product offerings.
  • Manage integrations with clients and merchants to the different plug-ins that Snap offers. Guides them effectively for a successful integration to our plug-in platform.
  • Keep Clients informed about new API versions, releases, newly published methods, etc.
  • Maintain the knowledge base of known issues, problems, solutions, and workarounds
  • Monitor external support channels like stack overflow and respond as needed.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • 2+ years fintech integrations experience with online and in-store solutions.
  • Good communication and relationship building skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Familiar with one or more programming languages (either PHP or JavaScript required).
  • Experience with Web technologies such as JavaScript, REST, SOAP
  • Understands basic API design concepts.
  • Familiar with API testing tools such as CURL or Postman
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, Big commerce.
  • Creative thinker who is experienced at the discovery process and understanding client pain points and opportunities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactively manage expectations on client calls.
  • Relevant experience with eCommerce platforms, payments gateways or payment processors is preferred.
  • Currently pursuing, recently completed, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
