Job Description

Mō te tūranga | About the Role
As an Application Support Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for supporting the operational environment for the Balance Sheet Risk and Securitisation streams at Westpac. This includes daily operations of the High-Performance Computing solution used to measure, report, and analyze Balance Sheet Risk outcomes: Interest Rate Risk, Transfer Pricing, Cost of Funds and Hedge Accounting supporting predominantly Treasury customers.

  • Ensure smooth daily operations and troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Support DevOps pipelines using Azure DevOp, Bitbucket, and Jenkins tools to run deployments.
  • Provide and maintain up to date documentation.
  • Engage with both internal NZ engineering teams and Australia Westpac team along with external vendors to resolve and prevent issues
  • Ensure all services meet SLA and are compliant with all standards and policies
  • Collaborate with squad members to support the development of the platform and delivery of roadmap items.
  • Be a team player and collaborate closely with our cross-functional teams to drive quality, experience outcomes.
  • Provide support for Power BI reporting and enhancements
  • On-Call Support and periodic weekend working.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or related subject.
  • Passion for technology.
  • 2-3+ years’ experience as an Application Support Engineer within a Microsoft environment.
  • Preference for candidates with experience working with some of: Control-M, Snowflake, SQL Scripting, QRM Manager, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Platforms, Dynatrace, PagerDuty, Splunk, Hashi Corp Vault, Azure DevOp, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
