This role is for our sister company Hercules Tanker Management (HTM)

HTM is seeking an Application Support & Business Intelligence Analyst to provide functional and technical support for the Veson IMOS shipping platform, alongside the development of high-quality Power BI reporting.

The role will act as a key interface between Shipping, Business Intelligence, and Technology teams, ensuring data from Veson IMOS is reliable, accessible, and effectively leveraged for operational and management reporting. The successful candidate will also provide support for Microsoft productivity tools used across the business.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Veson IMOS Application Support

  • Provide day-to-day application support for Veson IMOS, acting as a first and second-line support point for Shipping users.
  • Troubleshoot functional and data-related issues, working closely with business users to understand requirements and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Liaise with Veson support and internal technology teams as required to diagnose and resolve system issues.
  • Support configuration, testing, and rollout of system changes, enhancements, and upgrades.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports based on data sourced from Veson IMOS.
  • Write and optimise queries against Veson IMOS databases to extract, transform, and prepare data for reporting and analytics use.
  • Design and expose web services from Veson IMOS to enable secure consumption of data by Power BI and other reporting tools.
  • Work closely with the Lead Business Intelligence Developer to ensure reporting aligns with enterprise BI standards and best practice.
  • Support Shipping and management stakeholders with insights, ad-hoc analysis, and reporting requirements.

Data & Integration

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability between Veson IMOS and downstream reporting platforms.
  • Document data models, queries, interfaces, and reporting logic to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to improvements in data quality, automation, and reporting efficiency.

Microsoft Productivity Tools Support

  • Provide support and guidance on Microsoft 365 tools including Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Assist users with advanced Excel usage (e.g. Power Query, data modelling, templates) where required.
  • Support adoption of standard reporting and collaboration tools across the Shipping department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Proven experience supporting Veson IMOS (functional and/or technical).
  • Strong Power BI experience, including data modelling, DAX, and report development.
  • Ability to write SQL or equivalent queries against Veson IMOS data sources.
  • Experience creating web services or APIs from line-of-business systems for reporting consumption.
  • Strong understanding of shipping operations, chartering, or maritime processes.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 productivity tools, particularly Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and methodical in approach.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a shipping, trading, or commodity environment.
  • Familiarity with data governance, reporting standards, and controlled data access.
  • Experience working in a matrixed reporting environment (solid and dotted-line reporting).
