Your Role
Acquire and maintain holistic domain knowledge of current and emerging photonic technologies used in integrated circuits, including system aspects, photonic devices, manufacturing and inspection technologies.
Develop breakthrough concepts and architect innovative equipment solutions for enabling photonic integration in semiconductor manufacturing.
Steering of pre-development initiatives e.g. in the field of optical I/O, co-packaged optics, waveguides optical interposers.
Utilize diverse information sources, including industry collaborations, internal research teams and academic institutions to stay at the forefront of photonic advancements.
Conceptualize and architect innovative equipment solutions that support photonic integration into semiconductor manufacturing.
Provide technical leadership to a growing team of experts, guiding them in early-stage development and feasibility studies.
Collaborate closely with customers, research institutions, and internal and cross-business-unit R&D departments to align development with industry needs.
Contribute to the long-term strategic vision of the company by defining photonics-related opportunities and make a lasting impact on our company’s strategic direction.
Your Profile
A graduate degree in photonics, optical or electrical engineering, physics or a closely related field.
Important: Preferably over 5 years of experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, with a focus on integrated photonics or co-packaged optics, or demonstrated exposure to these technologies.
Important: Extensive professional network in the photonics and semiconductor industry, including research institutions and chip manufacturers.
Important: Deep technical expertise in photonic technologies for semiconductor applications such as co-packaged optics, optical interconnects and waveguides.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate application knowledge and cutting-edge research into practical equipment solutions.
Ability to lead interdisciplinary technical teams and drive innovation from concept to prototype.
Passion for exploring new technological frontiers and shaping the future of semiconductor manufacturing by integrated photonic structures.
