Help Shape the Future of Sustainable Food

At Lantmännen Biorefineries, we develop sustainable ingredients from oats, wheat, and peas that help shape the future of food. As an Application Specialist, you will apply your expertise in ingredient functionality and food systems to develop food applications that demonstrate the full potential of our ingredient portfolio.

Combining scientific expertise, creativity, and a hands-on approach, you will turn ideas into practical applications that create value for customers and support business growth. This is a temporary position covering parental leave, with the possibility of extension

This is what you will do

You will be the technical expert connecting our ingredients with real-world food applications.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing and optimizing applications for existing and new food ingredients.
• Designing and conducting trials to evaluate product functionality and performance.
• Supporting customer projects through technical guidance, demonstrations, and troubleshooting.
• Leading application-related projects from concept through prototyping and commercialization.
• Evaluating analytical results and translating insights into product recommendations.
• Identifying new opportunities through customer feedback, market insights, and emerging food trends.
• Collaborating with Sales, Product Development, Production, and Quality teams to deliver successful solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

This is what you need to succeed

You have:

• BSc or MSc in Food Science or Food Technology. We also welcome candidates with substantial hands-on experience in food application development, and deep expertise in ingredient functionality and food systems, especially within the field of dairy and meat analogues.
• Experience in application development, product development, technical service, or food ingredient innovation.
• Knowledge of food ingredients, functionality, and food processing.
• R&D project management capabilities.
• Knowledge of GMP, quality systems, and laboratory practices.
• Excellent communication skills in English. Swedish is an advantage.

Whether your expertise has been gained through formal education or hands-on experience, you understand the relationship between food ingredients, processing, structure, texture, and product performance. You can translate this knowledge into food products with the right texture, stability, and eating experience. You are systematic and analytical, while remaining practical and results-oriented in your approach. You use logical thinking and sound judgement to solve problems and drive projects forward efficiently. You are curious and open-minded, yet grounded and pragmatic You balance technical depth with practical execution, delivering results effectively without waiting for every detail to be fully understood
