Job Description

  • Provide L2/L3 support for enterprise application packaging and deployment services.
  • Create, maintain, and support application packages using MSI, MST, MSIX, EXE, App-V, and other packaging technologies.
  • Develop and customize application deployment solutions using PowerShell and PSADT (PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit)
  • Package, test, troubleshoot, and deploy applications through Microsoft SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Intune
  • Perform application discovery, installation analysis, compatibility assessment, and deployment testing.
  • Create silent installation and uninstallation packages for enterprise software deployments.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), pilot deployments, and production rollouts while ensuring deployment success.
  • Troubleshoot application installation failures, deployment issues, detection method failures, and user-reported software problems.
  • Manage application lifecycle activities, including packaging, deployment, updates, upgrades, patching, and retirement.
  • Support software distribution, Software Center administration, and endpoint deployment activities.
  • Work closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, security teams, and service desk teams to ensure successful software delivery.
  • Package and optimize applications for VDI environments, including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows 365, and VMware Horizon environments.
  • Create and maintain deployment documentation, packaging standards, operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Develop automation solutions to improve packaging efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Perform root cause analysis for complex application deployment issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security, software licensing, and operational standards.
  • Participate in change management, release management, and application deployment governance processes.
  • Support application modernization initiatives, including migration from SCCM to Intune and adoption of modern application management practices.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in Application Packaging, Software Distribution, or Endpoint Management.
  • Hands-on experience packaging and deploying applications in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune, and modern endpoint management platforms.
  • Experience supporting large-scale desktop, virtual desktop, and endpoint environments.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in Application Packaging and Software Deployment
  • Hands-on expertise with:
    • MSI
    • MST
    • MSIX
    • EXE packaging
    • PSADT (PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit)
    • PowerShell scripting
  • Experience creating installation, upgrade, and uninstallation packages.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SCCM/MECM application deployment and software distribution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune application deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with Software Center, detection methods, requirement rules, dependencies, and supersedence configurations.
  • Experience troubleshooting deployment failures, installation issues, and application compatibility problems.
  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Endpoint Management.
  • Experience packaging applications for VDI platforms including:
    • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
    • Windows 365
    • VMware Horizon
    • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (preferred)
  • Experience with application testing, validation, and release management processes.
  • Understanding of software licensing, security requirements, and enterprise software standards.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified Endpoint Administrator Associate.
  • Microsoft Intune Administrator or Modern Workplace certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • Experience with application virtualization technologies such as App-V.
  • Experience working in managed services or large enterprise environments.
