Your tasks:

You will manage applications within the European energy market to guarantee the EEX Group's service quality and resilience towards internal and external customers. Your work will directly influence the European power market, a growing and highly regulated market that continues to drive innovation. Automation, quality, and high availability are of extreme importance to us. We are looking for an experienced Application Operations Engineer (f/m/d) to operate and support business-critical applications running primarily on Microsoft Windows environments. Knowledge of Linux operating systems such as Debian and RedHat is considered an advantage. You will be responsible for the reliable operation of the applications, the definition of functional release requirements, and release testing. Within a diverse team, you will contribute to stable operations, share your knowledge, and support your colleagues in a structured on-call rotation and shift-based operating model. The continuous improvement of applications and processes is part of your daily work, as well as increasing operational effectiveness through automation, technical expertise, and a proactive mindset.

Your skills:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and application operations
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems such as Debian and RedHat is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Artifactory
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ansible and automation platforms
  • Experience in automating operational processes and system administration tasks across Microsoft Windows and Linux environments
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain automated deployment, configuration, and maintenance processes
  • Experience operating and supporting business-critical applications
  • Know-how and hands-on experience with ITIL
  • Database management know-how in at least one technology (Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
  • Willingness to participate in a shift-based operating model and on-call rotation
  • Ideally, expertise in a regulated banking, financial services, or energy market environment
  • Mindset of an influencer who wants to collaborate and continuously improve the status quo
  • Good language skills in English and German
