Job Description

Application Engineer of GSI services activities will guarantee the growth of activity of the Services activities on FACTS, HVDC & AC substations for CE region, by technically supporting the commercial team during Tenders and new opportunities. This role requires a broad knowledge of power electronics and electrical compensation equipment.

The Application Manager (m/w/d) ensures that technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and commercial success come together.
The role connects sales concepts with technically feasible solutions and ensures that projects are delivered reliably and efficiently, even under complex conditions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions involving Service FACTS/HVDC/AC substations portfolio as part of the pre-ITO (requisition) process while interfacing with the commercial team.
  • Leading a Team of Field Service Engineers and Technicians
  • Possesses a deep understanding of FACTS, HVDC & AC substations markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies.
  • Interfaces with Worlwide regional FACTS/ HVDC/ Service CT and support regional teams as required. The candidate is the main technical contact for regional Service FACTS/HVDC inquiries.
  • Central technical interface between Service, Sales, Project Management, Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Attends customer meetings and identifies solutions to Service FACTS, HVDC & AC substations customer needs.
  • Works closely with field engineers, back office and engineering identifying new products and services opportunities
  • Lunch globally commercial campaigns on Service FACTS, HVDC & AC substations new products and services.
  • Provides technical guidance for HVDC solutions across the project and service lifecycle
  • Positioned in Service with strong customer and delivery ownership- Support Sales and Service with technical expertise for HVDC applications
  • Review customer requirements, specifications and technical queries
  • Support ongoing projects by assessing technical changes, risks and improvements
  • Coordinate technical topics with Engineering and manufacturing sites
  • Manage and track technical customer tickets and issues
  • Ensure timely resolution and transparent cross-functional communication
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support standardization activities

Required Qualifications:

  • This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Customer Application Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • Experience in HVDC, FACTS or high-voltage systems
  • Strong technical understanding with service and customer mindset
  • Structured, proactive and solution-oriented
  • Confident communicator in cross-functional environments
  • Fluent in English and German
