As a Power Transmission Application Engineer working in industrial parts distribution you sit at the intersection of Engineering expertise and customer success. You support a wide range of industries, helping customers select, apply, and maintain Power Transmission solutions that keep their operations moving.

What kind of work may be involved?

  • Provide day to day technical support to customers and internal sales teams across Power Transmission products – belts, chain, couplings, geared motor etc.
  • Recommend suitable Power Transmission solutions based on application & customer requirements
  • Support quotation and tender processes by supplying accurate technical input and application guidance
  • Deliver clear, practical technical advice during site visits, installations, and commissioning support
  • Prepare technical reports, failure analysis summaries, and application recommendations
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and bearing manufacturers or suppliers
  • Support product training for internal teams to lift technical capability and confidence
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing field learnings and improving application standards

What you will bring:

  • A qualification in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred
  • Strong industry experience working with Power Transmission products, Bearings and rotating equipment
  • Understanding of industrial environments such as manufacturing, food & beverage, mining, processing, energy
  • The ability to translate technical detail into practical, usable recommendations
  • Confidence working with customers, from maintenance teams through to engineers and managers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a clear and professional style
  • Full NZ drivers license and willingness to travel regularly within the upper North Island
