Job Description

About us

With more than 120 colleagues worldwide, at Eternal Sun we create sunlight! We design and manufacture high-end solar simulators that are used in factories that manufacture solar panels. Our customers are the world's largest solar panel manufacturers and leading R&D laboratories that are rapidly bringing new technical innovations to market. We ensure that they can be confident in what they produce, the quality, and the precise output of their solar panels.

We are precise, resourceful, and persistent. Eternal Sun distinguishes itself through customer-driven innovation, from the outside in rather than the other way around, enabling us to deliver customized solutions and follow market innovations faster than others.

Solar energy is growing rapidly worldwide and is now even expanding into space!

To keep up with this growth, we want to expand our team with an Application Engineer, based in The Hague.

About the Role

As an Application Engineer, a technical engineering role, you will be part of the Customer Service team (9 persons) and report to our Customer Support Manager.

The position is based at the head office in The Hague, where around 50 colleagues work.

The culture is open, honest, enthusiastic, and international. We are looking for someone who will fit in well with our team. Potential candidates will be required to travel to support installations, annual classifications, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate for this position has hands-on experience with IV measurements of solar panels & excellent team spirit. We are on the lookout for someone who appreciates a fast-growing environment and is not afraid to hop on the wagon with us for an interesting ride.

Most importantly, someone who takes pride and satisfaction in making customers very happy.

Requirements

• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Solar PV: understands the technical aspects and is able to execute solutions independently;

• Your resume demonstrates a technical educational level (for example, Electrical Engineer) and 1-3 years of experience in a similar job;

• English: as our team and customer base are spread across the globe, your English needs to be fluent, both written and spoken

Soft skills:

• Flexible: you are not easily scared by an ever-changing schedule and unexpected events;

• Able to juggle multiple small projects at the same time;

Nice to haves:

• Hands-on experience with IV measurements

What a typical working day of the Application Engineer might look like:

• Supporting customers on PV module measurements & system diagnostics, sometimes including complex data analyses;

• Leading small (engineering) projects for existing customers (installed machines);

• Supporting our own harbor test labs in Rotterdam (and Valencia) with analyses of test data;

• Sometimes joining a field installation of equipment;

• Incidentally performing complex IV measurements for potential equipment or service customers

• Supporting the sales team on application questions from time to time

For this role in particular, we are looking for an all-rounder who seamlessly switches between different tasks and who thrives when presented with the challenge of multiple small projects.

You love working with people from different backgrounds, nationalities, and academic levels, and you have the experience to show it.

What we offer

• A young and vibrant organization that contributes to a cleaner future every day

• An international working environment with colleagues from no fewer than 15 different nationalities

• A competitive salary in line with market conditions

• 8% vacation pay

• Travel allowance of 0.23 cents per kilometer or reimbursement of your public transport costs

• If we make a profit, you will receive an annual bonus

• A good pension plan for your retirement, with two additional modules (disability and survivor benefits)

• 25 vacation days with the option to purchase additional days

• A daily lunch in our canteen at a set table

• After a fixed-term contract, the intention to extend
