Job Title:

Application Development Engineer - ElectronicsWe are seeking an experienced, Application Development Engineer to join our India Marketing team based in Bangalore, India.
• This position reports directly to the India Regional Marketing Manager and serves as an important technical member within our regional organization.
• The role is designed to bridge technical expertise with market development, ensuring our Electronic Materials portfolio meets the evolving needs of high-growth industries.
Core Responsibility Focus
The successful candidate will drive product application development, provide comprehensive technical support to sales teams and end customers, and expand our market presence in strategically important sectors. This includes Consumer electronics, Automotive xEV/ICE powertrain, Power Electronics, A.I. Data Center, robotics, and next-generation telecommunications (5G/6G). The role requires balancing immediate customer support needs with long-term strategic market development objectives.

Product Portfolio Scope
The position primarily covers our silicone electronic materials portfolio. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to explore and develop capabilities in adjacent product categories such as UV-curable adhesives, epoxy and acrylic specialty adhesives, and semiconductor bonding materials or specialty chemicals.

Educational & Experience Requirements
Master degree or above in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or closely related fields. A minimum of 5 years of progressive working experience in org electronic materials, specialty chemicals, or related industries is required. Demonstrated track records of successful application development and customer technical support are essential.

Industry Background Preference
Strong preference will be given to candidates with background in emerging high-potential industries such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, data center infrastructure, or advanced robotics. Alternatively, candidates with extensive experience in specialty electronic materials, semiconductor packaging, or advanced adhesive technologies will be highly considered. Understanding of end-user application requirements and industry trends is critical.

Strategic Mindset & Innovation
Beyond executing current responsibilities, the candidate should demonstrate strategic thinking and innovation capabilities. This includes identifying emerging market opportunities, evaluating new technology trends, and proposing product development directions that align with company growth objectives. The role requires proactive market intelligence gathering and competitive analysis.

Leadership & Collaboration Expectations
As a business development team member, the candidate will be expected to lead cross-functional project teams and represent the company in external technical forums. Strong collaboration skills with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams are essential. The ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with organizational goals is critical for success.

Responsibilities Include:

Technical Expert & Solution Developer

• Serve as the primary expert for thermal interface materials, adhesives, potting compounds, conformal coatings, and shielding materials within the China region. Maintain deep technical knowledge of product properties, performance characteristics, and application limitations.
• Develop customized application solutions to address specific customer requirements in target industries. Conduct technical assessments, recommend optimal product selections, and design application/dispensing solutions when necessary to meet unique performance criteria.
• Stay current with industry technology trends, competitive products, and emerging application requirements. Continuously update technical knowledge base and share insights with internal teams to maintain competitive advantage.

Laboratory & Testing

• Lead and oversee laboratory activities including product performance testing, reliability validation, and failure analysis. Ensure all testing activities comply with internal quality standards and industry regulations.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive testing protocols, documentation standards, and technical databases. Implement systematic data management practices to support consistent service delivery and knowledge retention across the organization.
• Coordinate with external testing laboratories and certification bodies when required. Manage laboratory equipment, resources, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

New Product Development (NPI) Engagement

• Actively participate in the complete NPI process from initial concept through commercialization. Collaborate with global and regional R&D teams to translate market requirements into detailed technical specifications and development plans.
• Conduct application trials, prototype testing, and performance validation in real-world conditions. Gather customer feedback during development phases and communicate findings to R&D teams for iterative product improvement.
• Support product launch activities by developing technical documentation, application guidelines, and training materials for sales teams and distributors. Ensure smooth transition from development to commercial availability.

Sales & Customer Technical Support

• Provide comprehensive pre-sales technical support to the sales team, including customer meetings, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proposal development. Help sales teams articulate product value propositions effectively.
• Deliver post-sales technical support including on-site troubleshooting, performance optimization, and technical training for end customers. Respond to technical inquiries with timely and effective solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in handling customer complaints and technical escalations. Conduct root cause analysis, develop corrective action plans, and communicate resolution progress to all stakeholders until complete closure.

Industry Influence

• Build and maintain industry influence through active participation in technical conferences, industry forums, and professional associations. Present technical papers, case studies, and application insights to establish company credibility.
• Develop and publish technical content including white papers, application notes, and industry trend analysis. Contribute to industry standards development where applicable to shape market direction.
• Cultivate relationships with key industry experts, research institutions, and potential strategic partners. Leverage these relationships for market intelligence, technology insights, and business development opportunities.

Marketing & Brand Development

• As an integrated member of the Marketing team, contribute to market expansion strategies and brand building initiatives. Provide technical input for marketing campaigns, product positioning, and competitive differentiation strategies.
• Develop technical marketing content including case studies, success stories, application brochures, and digital content to enhance brand visibility and market penetration. Ensure content accuracy and technical credibility.
• Support trade shows, technical seminars, and customer events by delivering technical presentations and conducting product demonstrations. Represent the company professionally to strengthen brand perception in target markets.

Market & Product Expansion

• Identify and evaluate opportunities in adjacent markets and product categories beyond current portfolio. Conduct feasibility studies, and competitive analysis to support strategic business development decisions.
• Help develop business cases including market size, growth potential, technical requirements, and investment needs.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

• Master degree or above in polymer science, chemistry, material science or related field
• 5 + years of experience in specialty chemical in Technical relevant roles.
• Customer orientation and good communication skills
• Be integrated, accountable, hardworking and studious
• Expertise chemical knowledge and capable to apply application test solve customer issues
• Fluent English both in oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding Six Sigma, DOE and new technology introduction process
• Experience in VDA6.3 or APQP practice for specialties chemicals preferred
• Expertise in downstream process, such as PCBA, Semiconductor, thermal simulation
