Join Liebherr, a global leader in engineering and manufacturing, as we advance our digital transformation journey. We are looking for a motivated Application Developer SAP BTP (m/f/d) to play a key role in our newly established SAP Center in Madrid.

In this role, you will contribute to our global SAP S/4HANA transformation program and design, develop and evolve our SAP extensions and applications on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), ensuring the correct alignment with Liebherr’s global standards.

You will play a key role in enabling innovation, clean-core principles, and future-ready SAP solutions.

Creating passion: your responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Build cloud-native applications using SAP CAP (Node.js / Java), SAP Fiori / UI5, and SAP Business Application Studio.
• Develop side-by-side extensions to SAP S/4HANA following Clean Core principles.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and performance-optimized applications.
• Collaborate closely with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical design documents, architecture standards, and development guidelines.
• Support application lifecycle activities including deployment, monitoring, and incident resolution.
• Manage source code versioning and branching strategies using Git, GitHub, and GitFlow, ensuring traceability and quality across development teams.
• Stay up to date with SAP BTP services, innovations, and development frameworks.
• Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Travel (up to 30%) to Liebherr sites worldwide to engage directly with business teams and support deployments.

Contributing your strengths: your qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in the development of applications under SAP BTP, ideally in S/4HANA environments.
• Proven experience as an SAP Application Developer, ideally with hands-on experience on SAP BTP.
• Solid knowledge of SAP CAP, Node.js and/or Java, SAP Fiori / UI5, and REST/OData services.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and GitFlow for source control and branching management.
• Experience working with databases available in the BTP environment: Hana Cloud and PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of the BTP ecosystem related to app development (destinations, apps federation, Work Zone).
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA extension strategies and clean-core approach.
• Understanding of cloud-native concepts (authentication, authorization, scalability, security).
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite, APIs, and cloud integration concepts is a plus.
• Structured, reliable, and service-oriented working style.
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in multicultural and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally (up to 30%) as required by project work.
• SAP certifications (Basis, S/4HANA, HANA, or RISE) are a plus.
