The center focuses on areas such as design and development in mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering, software development, and additive manufacturing.

Application Developer plays a key role in developing and supporting enterprise web applications as part of the Global Competency Center in Chennai.

We are looking for a self-starter with 0–2 years of experience who is eager to learn, take ownership, and contribute to the development of business applications using the Microsoft technology stack

This role focuses on application development, maintenance, testing and supporting business applications, workflow solutions, and related software components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, maintain, and support business applications, workflow solutions within the Microsoft technology stack that help lead fundamental changes to our business
  • Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Barry-Wehmiller applications team members to conceive, design, and deliver innovative applications and solutions.
  • Assisting the business and IT with survey initiatives and cross department projects
  • Responding to ad-hoc support requests from members of the business and IT.
  • Provide expertise and support to end users and other members of the IT support team.
  • Conduct research on emerging development tools and strategies.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Engineering, or related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in software development, web development, or workflow solutions
  • Familiarity with application development, automation, and integration concepts.
  • Software development experience or Working knowledge of one or more modern programming languages and development technologies.
  • Understanding of databases, REST APIs, and system integration concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot application issues and identify effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality solutions.
  • Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset and adaptability to evolving technologies and business needs.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

  • Experience or working knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, .NET, and SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of developing and executing test cases.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and modern application development concepts.
  • Knowledge of Responsive Application Development.
