Application Developer

Location: Pune

We are seeking an Application Developer (3–6 years’ experience) to join our Pune-based technology team. In this role, you will contribute to application development, enhancement, and maintenance across enterprise systems built on Microsoft .NET technologies, SQL Server, XML, and related frameworks. You will collaborate with global stakeholders, Business Analysts, Quality Engineering teams, and internal technical specialists to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions. You should be proactive, eager to learn, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively, and comfortable working with new systems, tools, and third‑party software vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the evaluation of business requirements, preparation of technical specifications, and development of application components.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using VB.NET / C#, SQL Server, XML, and related technologies.
• Perform unit testing, support integration testing phases, and ensure all deliverables meet required quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, and global stakeholders during requirement clarification, testing, and deployments.
• Adhere to established coding standards, architecture patterns, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow change control, version control, and deployment processes.
• Provide on‑call production support on a rotational basis, when required.
• Prepare technical documentation for assigned projects and enhancements.
• Maintain effective communication with team members, managers, and global partners.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in software development.
• Exposure to front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks) is a plus.
• Experience in cloud platforms (Azure preferred) is beneficial.
• Experience working with third-party vendors or packaged systems.
• Domain exposure in insurance or other regulated industries is an advantage.
• Strong experience with VB.NET or C#, SQL Server, XML, and API-driven development.
• Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, or other version control and CI/CD tools.
• Good understanding of application development methodologies (Agile/Scrum preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Good communication skills for working with distributed/global teams.
