In this role, you'll:


This role supports and enhances complex, bespoke rail applications, with a strong focus on database development and optimisation. It is responsible for maintaining and improving system performance, particularly across Oracle and PostgreSQL environments, while contributing to key projects such as rail timetable and digital systems programs. The role works closely with service providers and application teams to integrate new solutions and uplift existing platforms. Ultimately, it ensures reliable, high-quality systems that support efficient passenger services.

About you


The ideal candidate is an experienced database specialist with expert-level Oracle and SQL development skills, including query optimisation and data design. A full stack background is beneficial, with a strong emphasis on database capability and supporting application teams across multiple projects. They will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, collaboration, and the ability to enhance system performance and reliability. Experience working in complex environments, ideally within transport or large-scale systems, and a focus on delivering efficient, customer-focused outcomes is key.
