This position is to support the practice of head and neck surgery within the department of ENT. The practice currently has 2 APPs and 1 head and neck surgeon with a second joining in August 2026. The role will be a rotation of both clinic and OR. There will be a rotation of independent clinic, clinic supporting the surgeon's practice, and the OR. There are opportunities to perform in-clinic procedures. There is a rotation of weekend rounds in the hospital shared by all members of the head and neck team.The Otolaryngology Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care for patients with disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. The NP works in collaboration with otolaryngologists and the multidisciplinary team to perform assessments, manage medical and surgical treatments, and provide patient education.Perform detailed patient histories and physical examinations focused on ENT disorders.
Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as audiograms, CT/MRI scans, and lab work.
Assist in the management of acute and chronic ENT conditions, including infections, allergies, voice and swallowing disorders, and head and neck cancers.
Provide preoperative and postoperative care for ENT surgical patients.
Manage medication therapy, including antibiotics, steroids, and other relevant treatments.
Conduct minor procedures within scope of practice, such as ear debridement, nasal endoscopy, and laryngoscopy.
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive care.
Document clinical encounters thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.
Experience in otolaryngology, ENT, or related fields preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.

Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
