Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider Lead (NP/PA) for Advanced Heart Failure to join the team. This role will be a full-time role.

The APP Lead is a role that exists only for Inova Service Lines. The APP Lead is charged with optimizing daily function of and care delivery provided by Apps. The role serves as the direct supervisor for front-line APP providers in a Service Line.

Job Responsibilities
monitors day-to-day APP performance and manages and coaches APPs on clinical and operational work functions, in partnership with site leaders and collaborating physicians
Works with the APP Manager, site leaders and collaborating physicians:
Recruiting and on-boarding APPs into the Service Line
Implement practice agreements and DOPs
Set individual APP professional advancement/training plans, productivity ramp-ups and work schedules
Implement billing standards for APPs
Develop APP communications
Develop SL education curriculum for APPs
Provides input to the APP Manager on strategies to optimize the use of APPs in the Service Line, including role of APPs as members of the care team, APP competencies and professional advancement ladder, onboarding/training strategy, productivity targets, staffing levels, leadership model, and communications strategy
Assists the APP Manager in other duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
Key liaison between APPs, nursing, physicians and other providers
Promotes psychological safety among all APPs
Focuses on improving the quality of care delivered by APPs
Upholds and promotes Inova’s mission, vision, values, and care imperatives
Straight line reporting to Service Line APP Manager (where in place) or Executive APP Director
Dotted line reporting to relevant Service Line physician leader (e.g., Section/Division Chiefs, Unit/Practice/Program Directors)
The APP Lead is an experienced APP who is charged with overseeing the daily functions of and care delivery provided by APPs in a Service Line
The APP Lead serves as the direct supervisor for front-line APP providers in a Service Line
Requirements
Graduate of accredited NP or PA program
Current board certification and license to practice in Virginia
Specialty trained, where appropriate
3 to 5 years experience as an APP
BLS with American Heart Association
