Wolters Kluwer is looking for an API Integration Consultant to join our Professional Services team in either the Netherlands (Hoevelaken) or Belgium (Ghent/Hasselt).

This role is ideal for an experienced consultant who wants to further deepen their expertise in API integrations and grow into a true subject matter expert.

About the Role

As an API Integration Consultant, you will be part of the Professional Services team supporting Belgium and the Netherlands. You will take ownership of complex integration challenges and act as a trusted advisor for customers and internal stakeholders.

  • You will operate at the intersection of customers, Product Management, Development, and Sales, playing a key role in delivering successful API integrations across our ecosystem In addition, you will be part of a broader regional API community (Region West: Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK), where knowledge sharing, standardization, and continuous improvement are central. While collaboration is regional, the primary focus of this role is the Dutch market and its customers.

  • You will translate customer requirements and use cases into technically feasible integration solutions (in collaboration with Development) and actionable product improvements (in collaboration with Product Management). This means you will not only execute projects, but also serve as a consultant and strategic advisor within the wider ecosystem.

  • You will work hands-on with API integrations, leveraging tools and standards to analyze, test, and validate integrations. You are comfortable investigating technical issues and communicating effectively with both Development teams and customers

  • Finally, you will play an important role in guiding and further professionalizing the organization's API certification process

Tasks & responsibilities

Consulting for Customers & Partners

  • Lead API integration projects for customers and partners in the Netherlands.

  • Manage API certification programs end-to-end, including planning, testing, validation, and go/no-go decisions.

  • Guide partners throughout the certification process while ensuring quality and compliance with API standards.

  • Analyze integration requirements and use cases.

  • Advise customers and partners on API solutions and best practices.

  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues.

Collaboration with Product Management

  • Translate customer feedback into concrete product improvements.

  • Identify gaps in API functionality.

  • Provide input for roadmap planning and prioritization.

Collaboration with Development

  • Align on technical solutions and integrations.

  • Validate API behavior and usage scenarios.

  • Discuss technical feasibility and implementation approaches.

Collaboration with Sales

  • Support technical pre-sales activities.

  • Assess integration complexity and potential risks.

  • Advise on API use cases and partner integrations.

Regional Responsibilities (BE/NL/UK)

  • Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices.

  • Support the standardization of API and certification processes.

  • Collaborate within a broader international team.

Who Are You?

Experience & Profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in API integrations and/or technical consulting

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment involving Product Management, Development, and Sales.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluent in English and Dutch.

  • Analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented.

Technical Expertise

  • REST and SOAP APIs, including request/response structures.

  • JSON and XML.

  • Authentication mechanisms such as OAuth2 and API keys.

  • API testing tools such as Postman and cURL.

Nice to Have

  • Basic programming knowledge (JavaScript, Python, or C#).

  • Experience troubleshooting complex integrations.

  • Experience in a SaaS or platform-based environment.

  • Experience working in an international environment.
