API Inspector

Orbital is currently seeking experienced API Inspector (653/510/570) to provide inspection services to our customers throughout the Atlantic Region. A successful candidate should have five or more years of appropriate inspection background with experience in an oil refinery. This position will require travel to client sites. Ideal candidates should live local to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, or West Virginia.

The ideal candidate will be a high performing, critical thinking, analytical, and experienced self-starter with excellent leadership skills, written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Experience Guideline:

Five of more years of appropriate inspection experience.

Supervision:

Ability to supervise field technicians/inspection personnel in accordance with company rules and policies and in compliance with applicable labor requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • API certification required
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification required
  • TWIC card required
  • Aerial lift training and certification preferred
  • Confined space trained and competent, preferred
  • Must be familiar with reading and redlining P&ID’s and ISO drawings
  • Must be able to communicate technical requirements and deliverables clearly and concisely.
  • Provide timely feedback of inspection resumes to the site personnel
  • Must be able to collaborate with others and work effectively without much supervision.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Working at heights (aerial lifts, crane basket or from scaffolding) or in tight, confined space type areas would be required to complete field inspection work. Use of negative pressure, air filtering/purifying respiratory protection may be required.
