Astute Business Solutions is an Oracle consulting and technology services firm headquartered in Dublin, California. We specialize in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), PeopleSoft, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), JD Edwards (JDE), application modernization, managed services, and AI-enabled enterprise solutions.

We are currently seeking an experienced Oracle APEX Developer to join our offshore development team. This position will initially require approximately 20 hours per week, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on project requirements and performance.

Position Overview

The Oracle APEX Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications using Oracle APEX, SQL, and PL/SQL. The ideal candidate will have strong Oracle database development experience combined with front-end development skills and the ability to independently translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using Oracle APEX.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, and queries.
• Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Oracle APEX components.
• Integrate Oracle APEX applications with external systems using REST APIs, RESTful Services, and SOAP web services.
• Troubleshoot application, database, integration, and performance issues.
• Perform application testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Work closely with functional consultants, technical teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
• Enhance existing applications to improve usability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and user documentation.
• Follow Oracle development, database, application security, and coding best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with other developers and project team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Oracle APEX development experience.
• Strong expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience designing and developing complex, production-grade Oracle APEX applications.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive application design.
• Experience with application integrations and APIs.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
• Familiarity with Oracle Database administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle cloud services.
• Experience integrating APEX applications with Oracle ERP applications such as PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, JD Edwards, or Oracle Fusion Cloud.
• Familiarity with AI/GenAI integrations within enterprise applications is a plus.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
