Logitech is the Sweet Spot for people who want their actions to have a positive global impact while having the flexibility to do it in their own way.

The Team and Role:

Logitech is hiring an APAC Privacy Counsel to strengthen our world-class, strategic privacy function. You will be part of the Privacy & AI Governance team, which sits within the Legal team. You will play an instrumental role in shaping the company’s data privacy and cybersecurity framework in China and across other key APAC markets. In this capacity, you will integrate our global privacy and AI governance principles into local operations, partnering closely with business, product, and software engineering teams to drive meaningful impact on Logitech’s business and products both in China and across the region.

Your Contribution:

Be Yourself. Be Open. Stay Hungry and Humble. Collaborate. Challenge. Decide and just Do. Share our passion for Equality and the Environment. These are the behaviors and values you’ll need for success at Logitech. In this role you will:

  • Ensure compliance with data protection and cybersecurity regulations in China and other APAC jurisdictions.

  • Act as the China Data Protection Officer (DPO) and, where required, in similar roles in other APAC countries for privacy and AI compliance purposes.

  • Provide specialized and pragmatic advice on the implementation and impact of privacy and data protection laws to product, business groups and colleagues in the Legal team.

  • Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to identify legal requirements and best practices, and translate them into clear, actionable steps.

  • Distill highly technical rules and disparate data processes into understandable terms both for internal clients and external-facing documentation.

  • Partner with our Privacy Operations and AI Governance colleagues to provide appropriate advice and work on projects to strengthen our Privacy & AI Governance compliance program in Asia.

  • Advise on data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses and AI terms; respond to privacy specific questions in RFPs and RFIs; draft and review notice and consent forms.

  • Draft and maintain appropriate procedures and playbooks for the use of templates.

  • Provide advice and conduct assessments on cross-border data transfers.

  • Draft privacy and data protection related policies and review them against leading industry standards.

  • Contribute to ongoing efforts to provide education, resources and training on privacy and data protection.

  • Keep up to date and research new legal requirements that may be applicable to Logitech’s business in China and other APAC markets.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

  • Strong experience and understanding of China data protection and cybersecurity laws, with experience and knowledge of privacy laws in other APAC jurisdictions a plus.

  • Excellent academic credentials with at least 6 years privacy experience at a top-tier law firm, in-house or at a Mainland China regulator, prior work with a multinational company a plus.

  • Experienced in dealing with regulators in Mainland China regarding data privacy and cybersecurity matters.

  • Admitted to practice law in Mainland China.

  • Based in Shanghai.

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.

  • Experienced in handling privacy inquiries, complaints and incidents.

  • Experience in privacy by design reviews and projects, performing data protection impact assessments (DPIA).

  • Experience in drafting and negotiating privacy related contracts, developing compliance and auditing frameworks.

In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:

  • Be a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision, but shows excellent judgment about when to look to managers and teammates for guidance, and when and how to communicate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Proactive to raise a hand and take on work, instead of expecting it to be asked.

  • Ability and commitment to work both independently and collaboratively with numerous people at all levels throughout the company.

  • Comfortable expressing a point of view and influencing change in a collaborative manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, lead & manage projects and drive/achieve results, while working autonomously.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Thoroughness and critical thinking in legal research.
