Job Description

Join JPMorganChase's Payments Regulatory Oversight and Governance team and take a senior role in ensuring the firm maintains a safe, sound, and compliant payments processing environment across Asia-Pacific. You will be the regional anchor for regulatory engagement — coordinating with regulatory bodies across APAC locations, bringing structure to how the firm responds, and embedding consistent governance standards across payments operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong payments knowledge, a sharp eye for governance, and the ability to manage complex regulatory relationships in a fast-paced environment.

As a Vice President in APAC Payments Regulatory Oversight and Governance, you will be part of a global team that partners with Payments Operations to centralize governance and oversight of regulatory examinations and information requests. Payments regulatory oversight exists to ensure the firm maintains safe, sound, and compliant processing environments — and in this role, you will be the regional lead responsible for understanding the regulatory landscape, maintaining active coordination with regulatory bodies across APAC locations, and ensuring responses are accurate, well-evidenced, and delivered on time. You will embed consistent best-practice standards across lines of business and functions, working across regulatory operations, cash operations, and payments operations teams. Strong knowledge of payments products, flows, and systems is essential for this role.

Job responsibilities

  • Monitor regulatory deliverables, manage response standards and templates, and maintain response libraries to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Oversee APAC responses to regulatory examinations and information requests, ensuring clear ownership and coordination across teams.
  • Drive end-to-end response execution — sourcing data, validating with subject matter experts, submitting responses, and maintaining a complete audit trail.
  • Maintain active coordination with regulatory bodies across APAC locations, with a strong understanding of each regulator's expectations and engagement preferences.
  • Coordinate across regulatory operations, cash operations, and payments operations to align the response model with lines of business and functions.
  • Identify governance gaps and implement improvements that strengthen regulatory readiness across the region.
  • Build strong relationships with compliance, legal, operations, and business stakeholders to support effective regulatory engagement.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in payments operations or regulatory-related roles within financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of payments products, flows, and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with regulatory bodies, managing relationships, and representing the firm in supervisory interactions.
  • Experience managing regulatory examinations or information requests end-to-end.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and written skills, with the ability to produce regulatory submissions and engage confidently at senior levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver under tight deadlines.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working across Asia-Pacific regulatory environments, with familiarity with key regional supervisory frameworks and regulators.
  • Background in payments operations, cash operations, or transaction banking.
  • Experience building or improving governance frameworks and regulatory readiness programs.
