Euroclear is expanding its footprint across the Asset & Wealth Management landscape by bringing the full breadth of Euroclear’s global infrastructure capabilities to these client segments. Beyond fund specific solutions such as FundsPlace, Euroclear offers a wide range of services—including settlement, global custody, collateral and liquidity management, issuance services, data solutions, and market access capabilities—that support institutional investors across their investment lifecycle.

This role is central to strengthening Euroclear’s strategic relevance, driving commercial growth, and deepening long‑term relationships with the Asset Management industry and the associated value chain, across the region.

Context

Euroclear’s Sales & Client Relationship (SCR) division operates a global sector-focused model dedicated to the Asset & Wealth Management and associated buyside community. The APAC team leads Euroclear’s engagement with the buy‑side ecosystem, shaping commercial opportunities and building strategic client partnerships across jurisdictions and asset classes.

We are seeking a Hong Kong–based APAC Business Development Leader to:

  • Lead commercial strategy and execution across all Euroclear offerings relevant to Asset & Wealth Managers and associated industry stakeholders:
  • Manage regional teams across Hong Kong and Singapore.
  • Drive senior-level client engagement, strategic planning, and revenue growth across APAC.
  • Position Euroclear as a trusted long-term partner supporting clients’ global investment, operational efficiency, regulatory alignment, and risk mitigation needs.

This role reports to the Global Head of Sales & Relationship Management (AM & AO), with a dual reporting line into the Chief Commercial Officer, APAC.

Primary mandate:

Lead the commercial expansion and client adoption of all Euroclear solutions relevant to the Asset Manager, Private Wealth, Platform and Institutional Investor (Insurance) segments, including but not limited to:

  • FundsPlace & fund distribution services
  • Global settlement & custody services (ICSD)
  • Issuance and post-trade services for ETFs
  • Collateral Management & Liquidity Services
  • Data, insights, and regulatory reporting support
  • Market access, connectivity, and network services

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Leadership & Execution

  • Develop and deliver regional sales strategies covering the full Euroclear offering.
  • Accelerate adoption of Euroclear solutions across investment operations, collateral, liquidity, issuance, and distribution workflows.
  • Drive cross selling and upselling opportunities across the Euroclear product suite.
  • Analyse sales performance and market trends to optimise revenue outcomes.

2. Market & Industry Engagement

  • Enhance Euroclear’s presence with regulators, industry associations, consultants, law firms, and ecosystem partners.
  • Maintain deep understanding of buy‑side investment products, global market infrastructures, operational models, and regulatory changes.
  • Represent Euroclear’s capabilities across Funds, ETFs, Alternatives, Cash, and Digital Assets where applicable.

3. Strategic Client Partnerships

  • Own senior-level relationships with Asset Managers, Wealth Managers, Platforms and Institutional Investors (including insurance companies), fund administrators.
  • Map decision‑makers and influence strategy within client organisations.
  • Develop multi solution, multiyear client plans aligned with Euroclear’s global strategy.
  • Lead cross functional virtual teams to execute client strategies, involving Product, Legal, Operations, and senior Euroclear sponsors.

4. Business Development

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across traditional funds, ETFs, alternative assets, and liquidity management.
  • Shape solution design with Product teams across the entire Euroclear landscape.
  • Provide market intelligence to help clients navigate structural change, operational challenges, and regulatory transformation.
  • Drive co‑creation initiatives with clients to innovate operational efficiency and investment infrastructure.

5. Client Engagement & Advocacy

  • Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders during strategic engagements and commercial negotiations.
  • Advocate client needs internally to enhance Euroclear's services, platform capabilities, and client experience.
  • Facilitate end-to-end connectivity between Euroclear and client teams to ensure seamless delivery and relationship depth.

6. Organisational Alignment & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop regional Business Development Managers & Account Managers.
  • Collaborate with SCR Unit Heads to deliver and execute the Asset & Wealth Management strategy
  • Collaborate with the APAC Head of Funds Product Management and product organization to formulate the relevant value propositions, drive thought leadership and prioritise specific product roll outs in the region
  • Oversee FTE allocation, performance management, resource planning, and budgeting in conjunction with the Global Head Sales & Relationship Management (AM & AO) and APAC Chief Commercial Officer
  • Ensure alignment with Euroclear’s global strategy across all solution lines.
  • Support change management initiatives, new product rollouts, and adoption of enhanced services.

Preferred Background & Experience

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years in senior client-facing roles within financial services.
  • Current or prior SFC Responsible Officer (RO) for Type 1 experience is desired but not a must.
  • Strong understanding of the buy‑side ecosystem (AM, AO, insurers, pensions, private wealth, administrators).
  • Experience across multiple domains such as fund distribution, custody, settlement, collateral, liquidity, or market infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex institutional accounts and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience leading teams across multiple APAC jurisdictions and driving cross-functional execution.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English; Mandarin and/or Cantonese are a plus.
  • Ability to travel across APAC regularly.
