Job Description

Abbott is a global healthcare leader, creating breakthrough science to improve people’s health. We’re always looking towards the future, anticipating changes in medical science and technology.

Our rapid diagnostics solutions are helping address some of the world’s greatest healthcare challenges.

The Opportunity

As the APAC Franchise Head, you will drive effective in-market execution of regional marketing strategies across APAC, ensuring translation of strategy into strong commercial outcomes. Act as the critical link between regional marketing and country teams to ensure consistent, high-quality execution, accelerate market adoption, and deliver revenue growth across priority markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead execution of regional marketing strategies across APAC markets, ensuring alignment with local market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Translate regional plans into actionable, market-specific execution plans with clear timelines, targets, and ownership.
  • Partner with country commercial teams to drive demand generation, customer adoption, and revenue growth across key product portfolios.
  • Monitor in-market performance (sales, share, campaign effectiveness) and identify gaps, providing actionable recommendations to improve outcomes.
  • Drive execution excellence across markets, ensuring consistency in messaging, positioning, and go-to-market approaches.
  • Act as a key business partner to country teams, providing hands-on support to accelerate execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Support launch readiness and execution for new products (NPI), ensuring markets are fully prepared (training, materials, targeting, demand generation).
  • Equip markets with tools, campaigns, and capabilities required to compete effectively and win in priority segments.
  • Facilitate sharing of best practices and successful initiatives across markets to drive replication and scale.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Market Access, and Medical teams to ensure integrated execution in-market.
  • Establish clear KPIs and dashboards to track in-market performance across countries and initiatives.
  • Analyze performance data (sales trends, campaign ROI, adoption metrics) to generate insights and inform decision-making.
  • Provide regular, structured updates to regional leadership on execution progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Identify underperforming markets or initiatives and proactively develop recovery plans in collaboration with country teams.
  • Serve as the voice of the market to regional marketing, providing insights on customer needs, competitive dynamics, and execution challenges.
  • Feed market intelligence into regional strategy development to ensure plans remain relevant and impactful.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and risks across markets and recommend strategic adjustments as needed.
  • Work closely with Market Access, Commercial Excellence, and PMO teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
  • Align with regional stakeholders on priorities, timelines, and deliverables to ensure coordinated execution.
  • Drive strong stakeholder engagement across markets, building trust and influence without direct authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, commercial, or in-market roles within healthcare, diagnostics, or medical devices.
  • Strong experience in multi-country or regional roles across APAC.
  • Proven track record in driving in-market execution and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience working closely with sales teams and country organizations.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen (sales drivers, channel dynamics, market growth).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into action.
  • Strong execution discipline and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Effective communication and cross-cultural collaboration.
