Position – A&P Mechanic

Location: Peru, IN

We are seeking experienced A&P Mechanics to support commercial aircraft maintenance operations in Peru, IN. This is a night-shift position beginning at 5:30 PM, with Thursday start dates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance
  • Inspect aircraft systems and components for defects, damage, and proper operation
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems and complete required corrective actions
  • Remove, install, repair, and replace aircraft components
  • Perform operational and functional checks following maintenance
  • Read and follow maintenance manuals, technical data, and work instructions
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately
  • Coordinate with inspectors, leads, and technicians while following safety and quality procedures

Summary of Education, Experience and Certification

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required
  • Previous hands-on aircraft maintenance experience required
  • Commercial airline or transport-category aircraft maintenance experience preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, systems, and components
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and technical documentation
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, remove, and install aircraft components
  • Proficiency with aircraft maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to complete maintenance records accurately
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
  • Availability for night shift beginning at 5:30 PM

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The employee will work in an aircraft maintenance and hangar environment and may be exposed to noise, chemicals, moving equipment, and other conditions associated with aviation maintenance.

The employee must be able to stand for extended periods and bend, climb, reach, kneel, and work in various physical positions.

Eligible GAL AeroStaff contract employees may receive:
