Position – A&P Mechanic

Location: Columbia, SC

We are currently seeking experienced A&P Mechanics to support Slate Aviation’s expanded aircraft maintenance operations in Columbia, SC.

The A&P Mechanic will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and component replacements on CRJ and other regional aircraft. All work must be completed in accordance with approved technical data, company procedures, and applicable Federal Aviation Administration regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on CRJ and regional aircraft
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain aircraft systems and components
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and aircraft system discrepancies
  • Remove, repair, replace, and install aircraft components as required
  • Perform operational and functional checks following maintenance
  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, engineering documents, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives
  • Complete assigned work in accordance with approved technical data and FAA requirements
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, discrepancies, and corrective actions
  • Coordinate with leads, inspectors, technicians, and maintenance management
  • Support aircraft servicing, modification, and repair projects as assigned
  • Maintain personal tools and equipment required for assigned maintenance activities
  • Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized
  • Work first or second shift based on operational requirements
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

of Education, Experience and Certification

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license required
  • Minimum three years of CRJ or regional aircraft maintenance experience required
  • Experience working in an aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, or airline environment preferred
  • Must be willing and able to work first or second shift

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of regional aircraft maintenance practices
  • Experience performing maintenance on CRJ or comparable regional aircraft
  • Ability to troubleshoot aircraft mechanical and electrical discrepancies
  • Ability to read and interpret approved technical documentation
  • Experience performing component removal, replacement, and installation
  • Ability to perform inspections and functional checks accurately
  • Ability to complete maintenance records and related documentation
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
  • Ability to maintain quality while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide personal tools as required
  • Flexibility to work first or second shift

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • First or second shift
  • Candidates must be available to work either first or second shift. Shift assignments will be based on operational requirements.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The employee will work in hangar, ramp, and aircraft maintenance environments and may be exposed to noise, weather conditions, fuels, lubricants, chemicals, and other materials commonly associated with aircraft maintenance.

The employee may be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work in confined or elevated areas throughout the shift.

The employee must be able to lift and move aircraft parts, tools, and equipment as required.
