The Vermont Agency of Transportation's Contract Administration Bureau is seeking a motivated, detail-orientated professional to join our Grants Unit.
This role will assist in the support of more than 1000 grants across 30 statewide programs each year, ensuring the efficient use of resources that keep Vermont's transportation system moving. The Specialist will prepare and assemble documents for Notice of Funding Opportunities through grant execution and assisting with grant financial monitoring responsibilities.The position is expected to maintain accurate data across multiple software systems and help ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, and will assist with the development of detailed procedures and continuous improvement efforts.
We are looking for an individual who brings strong organizational skills, the ability to move seamlessly between priorities, able to work independently and with a group setting. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are a must. The work is challenging and rewarding, with a direct connection to improving the transportation services that Vermonters rely on every day. Duties are performed in an office setting. Incumbent will interact with internal and external customers requiring professional conduct.
Bachelor's degree in public administration, accounting, business management, or related field AND one (1) year or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants, agreements, maintenance or construction processes, public administration, law, or a related field.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants and agreements, maintenance or construction processes, public administration, law, or a related field.
OR
Two (2) years or more of experience as an AOT Contracts Specialist Il or AOT Contract Administrator II with the State of Vermont.
