
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent. Post high school education in business and/or secretarial training desirable.
2. General office skills including the use of personal computers, filing, copying and the ability to use or learn to operate various types of office equipment.
3. Three (3) years bookkeeping/accounting experience; school district experience preferred.
4. Excellent writing, communication, organization and interpersonal skills to deal effectively and confidentially with a diverse group of District staff and the public.
5. The ability to work independently to plan and carryout assignments with minimal supervision within the approved policies of the District.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
JOB GOAL:
To assist the Food Service Director and Business Administrator in the efficient operation of the Food Service and Business departments so that the offices' maximum position impact on the community, the staff and the education of children may be realized.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Performs general secretarial duties including word processing and typing, preparation and typing of reports, scheduling meetings and appointments, placing and receiving telephone calls, maintaining regular and orderly filing and retrieval systems, copying and distribution of information and materials, processing of mail, assisting District staff and the public.
2. Assists the Business Administrator in providing full accounting of the Food Service budget, general ledger, and inventory; prepares and records receipt and disbursement transactions, reports, etc.
3. Processes and maintains Free and Reduced Lunch applications and records.
4. Maintains Professional Stand hours/records for food service staff.
5. Processes district-wide purchase requisitions and elementary school budget requisitions; maintains purchase order files.
6. Prepares and processes quotes and bids for supplies and equipment.
7. Reconciles the cash accounts for selected general, payroll and other selected funds.
8. Serves as backup to the Accounting Assistant.
9. Serves as a backup for mail processing.
10. Assist the Business Administrator with all Food Service regulations and deadlines.
11. Participates in ongoing staff development programs.
12. Assists the Business Office team for clerical/secretarial work, as may be assigned, to meet the office work schedule.
13. Regular and timely attendance.
14. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Food Service Director and Business Administrator.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated at least annually by the Business Administrator in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of support personnel.

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a 12 month, contract position, with standard workdays Monday through Friday, Hours of work are determined by Supervisor and typically fall within the Administrative Office's hours of operation.
