
The Anthropology Research Assistant will conduct historical research on the Hamann-Todd Human Osteological Collection housed at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. This position pays $15.00 per hour, employment is expected to begin January 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct independent archival and genealogical research following established protocols.
· Clean data and enhance an existing database related to the collection and archives.
· Regularly report findings and liaise with other team members.
· Participate in the Museum’s professional development and training programs related to the project.
· Create science communication content to disseminate findings and engage with community partners in the future.
Education and Experience
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with some independent research experience, preferably archival and/or genealogical research. Must be eligible under the Federal Work-Study Program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
· Effective oral and written communication skills
Working Conditions
This position will conduct indoor research activities that may occasionally require physical effort. This position may require sitting, walking, standing, and reaching including stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodation.
