Job Description

Summary

Join our Antenna & Wireless engineering team and drive innovation that matters! We're looking for engineers with strong fundamentals in RF and antenna/wireless system design who want to work at the front of the product cycle, where the constraints are loosest and the impact is largest. These teams of world-class engineers help architect and design the best wireless products at Apple. We take the earliest industrial design concepts and answer the hard questions: what antennas can fit, what performance is achievable, what the radio architecture should be, and what we are willing to commit to. Our decisions set the RF targets that every downstream wireless team designs against.

Description

Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Every single day, people do amazing things at Apple. Do you want to impact billions of users by developing an extraordinary product with a prime focus on achieving the best wireless performance? You will become part of a hands-on development team that furthers engineering perfection, creativity and innovation. Dynamic, inspiring people and innovative technologies are the norm here. We want you to join our team if you are a resourceful engineer with the desire to research and develop solutions that do not yet exist. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of RF channel modeling, including knowledge of ray tracing techniques for wireless propagation analysis

Antenna design and integration experience in space-constrained consumer products

Testing experience in anechoic chambers and reverberation chambers

Familiarity with RF calibration methods and the RF metrics used to judge product performance

Experience with wireless link budget, sensitivity, and system-level performance modeling

Basic understanding of wireless standards such as NR, LTE, UWB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS

Minimum Qualifications

Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, antenna theory, and communication theory

Experience with antenna radiation patterns, including handling, visualizing, and analyzing pattern and efficiency data

Ability to write efficient, scalable code in MATLAB, Python, C, or C++ for modeling and data analysis

Experience with EM simulation tools such as CST, XFdtd, or HFSS

Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers, power sensors, and oscilloscopes

Energy and drive to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-moving, startup-like environment
