The Intermountain Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Intermountain Healthcare. The Annual Fund Specialist supports the mission of the Intermountain Foundation by raising funds through ongoing and one-time giving campaigns that engage a large pool of donors to give at entry-level to $25,000 annually.
This position will work during regular business hours, from 9am-5pm. Occasional nights and weekends may be required depending on business needs.
*Qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a large base of annual giving donors through phone calls, mailings, campaigns, and face-to-face visits. *Meets an annual revenue goal by maintaining a high level of development activity that results in funding and in the identification of new prospects for the funding priorities each year.
*Cultivates and solicits a portfolio of mid-level donor prospects, with a gift level objective of $1,000 - $25,000. Collaborates with the Annual Fund Manager to identify and qualify annual giving donors suitable for a major gift portfolio.
*Defines and executes a multi-year plan for annual giving campaigns, including strategies for both acquisition of new donors and renewal of existing donors.
*Supports leadership to set revenue and expense goals for annual giving campaigns. Responsible for developing growth strategies that increase net revenue.
*Pro-actively identifies local and national healthcare themed opportunities to engage donors and prospects in direct giving campaigns (examples might include Doctor's Day or Guardian Angel campaigns).
Implements innovative multi-channel annual fundraising techniques utilizing direct mail, email, telethons, one-to-one strategies, and other solicitation mediums as necessary and appropriate.
*Supports the system-wide Caregiver Giving Campaign by managing local engagement and solicitation strategies.
*Manages the activities and roster of the local giving society. Works with MGOs to advance donors to higher levels. Engages giving society members throughout the year with applicable acknowledgement activities and services (in collaboration with the Stewardship team).
Generates new donor activations through creative peer-to-peer and 3rd party fundraising strategies.
*Understanding of grateful patient engagement tactics to activate prospect donor activity.
*Uses Raiser's Edge and other tools to monitor donor activity, analyze information, and identify opportunities for increased donor participation.
Adheres to metrics to demonstrate success and identifies areas for improvement. Sets, documents, and meets annual goals. Analyzes Annual *Fund program performance and reports results for senior management review.
*Maintains awareness of changes in philanthropy and best practices in annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving.
*Stays current on local hospital and system-level activities, events, and achievements, seeking creative opportunities for donor and prospect engagement.
*Maintains an understanding of privacy and confidentiality best practices and HIPPA compliance to ensure the protection of donor information, including permitted PHI.
*Maintains an understanding of the role of the Foundation in the overall strategic plan of Intermountain to raise funds that support Intermountain's mission: Helping People Live the Healthiest Lives Possible.
Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
Four years of fundraising experience with demonstrated achievement in annual fund, donor solicitations, and special giving campaigns.
Demonstrated advanced writing skills that produce clear, accurate, and persuasive communications.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including relationship building and communication in-person, over the phone, and via email and text with diverse groups of people (e.g. volunteers, civic / business leaders, board members, patients and their families, hospital staff, foundations, corporations, etc).
Demonstrated strong project planning and management skills, demonstrating detail orientation, timeliness, and ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects at once.
Demonstrated strong analytic and creative skills.
Demonstrated functional working experience with computer programs and a donor database.
Experience fundraising in a healthcare environment.
Experience in a complex annual giving environment.
Functional working experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and Luminate; or similar CRM and online giving platform.
Experience with donor database management.
Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.
Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
See and read computer monitors and documents.
Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
