Announcer

Pay Details:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $28.50 per hour.

of Position

This is a part time seasonal position as a Game Day Public Address Announcer for the San Diego Gulls Hockey Club home games, pre-season, regular season and playoffs. The Announcer will also make regular public appearances in the community and numerous voice over recordings during the season. The Public Address Announcer will present a distinctive voice to the San Diego Gulls home game presentation. The Public Address Announcer will announce all hockey announcements, introduction of entertainment teams, visiting lineups, pre-intro video moment, and pre-game, in-game, and post-game announcements as dictated by the Game Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties and responsibilities customarily associated with the position of an announcer for an American Hockey League (AHL) team for pre-season, regular season and playoff home games.

• Perform as Announcer/MC special events and public appearances.

• Perform prepared scripts and hockey game flow.

• Experience in a “Live Production” environment, familiarity with the pace and flexibility needed to improvise and adjust on the fly.

• Observe all reasonable rules and regulations adopted by the San Diego Gulls Hockey Club.

• Other duties as assigned

Skills

• College degree in broadcasting, communications or a related field preferred.

• Experience in sports and hockey is not mandatory, but highly preferred.

• Comfortable being in front of large crowds.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

• Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required; must be available to work all Gulls home games.

• Able to work well under pressure.

• Able to attend community related events on behalf of the Gulls organization.

• Must be an effective public speaker with experience as an announcer.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Education - Bachelor's Degree

Experience Required - 1-2 Year's
